Jess Healey

My name is Jess & I am from Edmonton, AB. I have been devoted to my yoga practice since 2014 after I quickly realized the positive impacts it had on my physical & mental wellbeing and my hockey performance. I began to learn more about living a yogic lifestyle and the benefits of regular practice. As I continued with my hockey career, yoga became a safe place and a great form of recovery for me. I fell in love with all differently styles of yoga and after 9 years of a consistent practice I decided to complete my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. My training was done in 2022 with Yandara Yoga in Baja, Mexico. It was an experience that changed my life and I came home inspired and renewed. My experience not only made me excited to continue practicing but it motivated me to inspire others and share my yoga learnings with other students. I currently practice many different styles of yoga that are all empowering and humbling, and it impacts how I choose to teach my own classes. More often than not, I prefer to teach a hatha style yoga class that blends together breath, postures, and some laughter. As a professional athlete, I have great insight into the challenges of high impact exercise and how it can effect the body. I strongly encourage my students to listen, honour and move their body in a way that feels best for them. My goal is to help students enjoy the journey and accept that not every day is the same; to find the lightness in their practice, and never compare themselves to others.

In my free time I love training, biking, rock climbing and spending time in the mountains; camping or hiking with my family.
